One of the biggest problems you will face in business is not the amount of traffic you get, but it's how you think. How did I dial 3000 dials and not give up? I had a mindset that no one else had. Even today I do things online that people say won't work.
They tell me that it isn't possible.
This just convinces me I need to do it.
Outhink your competitor and you'll last longer, too! :)
I remember when I first got started in my home based business. Convinced that I could do this thing online with no phone calls, and that I would prove everyone wrong was one of my goals. Ha! I did build a huge business and am STILL building huge businesses online, but the reality is this- no relationship, no long term business.
A friend of mine built an online business with very little phone contact, the problem is however his attrition stunk! He'd lose people every month by huge amounts. Me, I lose about 1-3 per month, enroll 1-3 more and the paycheck never goes down. Neat thing is this- once you establish your name online, you'll get free leads for life.
Presently I get 5-10 people who ask about working at home every week, direct to my lead capture.
I do no advertising, I do no marketing for home business.
This is overflow from my past 2 years of work. Earns me a nice Enroller Bonus because most get started ( they looked for me, remember, no convincing, no sales). This adds to my residual income and takes care of all attrition. Beautiful.
So how on earth do you get regular traffic coming?
When I was building actively for 2 years, every DAY I did one thing to build my online traffic. Not alot of things, no listing myself a ton of times and then waiting- that will get you into trouble. I just did one promotion per day. Post to blog, post to forum, post an article, post to a search engine, edit my listing, do one thing per day.
Some people will say that's not enough. Well 365 days per year multiplied by 2 years- you check it out.
Type my name: Sandi Krakowski into any search engine and tell me the facts, not someone's opinion. There's over 15 pages of my content. I rest my case.
What should you write about? Write about the business. Write about what it's like to build, what you are hating about building, what is working, what isn't working. Direct people to some of the good things you are using. Be honest, be upright, be real. Forget the sales, forget the hard pitch, forget the crap. ( Sorry, I am just me on this email list, if that bothers you I am sure you can find another list.) Truth be told, alot of marketing is crap. Just a bunch of regurgitation that someone else said.
From me you'll find what I did, how I did it and how I applied this to THREE new markets. I do the same thing for my marketing pages http://www.arealchangemarketing.com This was just built in June of 2007. Not as much exposure yet but I have not spent one cent and I get 3-5 leads per DAY!
What are you marketing?
Who is the target of your marketing?
Post one time per day to that audience, not random fling in the air lottery type marketing.
I built a business with the best of the online world and the best of offline marketing. I did one thing online per day- I talked to real people who had real lives and real money issues.
Real people who needed a REAL person calling them back, not some can in the box sales person who was only dreaming about Mastercard and Visa.
Take a genuine interest in the person on the other side of the phone and the email. Watch what happens to your paycheck.
Until later! Market for real and make a change!
